Former special forces officer appointed new chief of North-Caucasian VOGOiP
Police Colonel Vladimir Alai has been appointed the chief of the Temporary Operational Group of Agencies and Units (known as VOGOiP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Northern Caucasus. He took the place left vacant after Igor Romashkin had been promoted to the post of the Minister of Internal Affairs for Kabardino-Balkaria.

Vladikavkaz residents report on three cases of discharges to Terek in May
Today, according to local residents, the waters of the Terek River have once again changed their colour. The Terek River got the reddish hue because of lilac water discharged to the river from a pipe not far from the Krasnogvardeisky Bridge.
