MIA reports detention of two IS supporters in Ingushetia

Law enforcers detained two residents of the Ingush village of Ekazhevo, who were preparing to leave for Syria to take part in the hostilities on the side of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia.

According to the MIA, the two young men "joined the IS" through social networks. Meanwhile, the young people wanted to leave for Syria in the near future.

A criminal case has been instituted against the detainees on the charge of involvement in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and they face up to 10 years of imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 20, the FSB announced the detention of members of a group of active supporters of the IS in Magas and in one of the municipal districts of Nazran.
