Two TikTokers in Azerbaijan have been arrested for inciting religious hatred.

A court in Azerbaijan has arrested TikTokers Magsad Bagirov and Kyamran Bilalov, who are accused of inciting religious hatred.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 27 in Baku, TikToker Magsad Bagirov was arrested for 10 days, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against him for unethical behavior on the internet.

TikToker Magsad Bagirov, known as "Chevik", and his colleague Kyamran Bilalov are accused under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and by court decision, they have been arrested. Both are suspected of committing acts aimed at inciting religious hatred and enmity in society, reports Oxu.az on September 14.

It is reported that Bagirov regularly held live broadcasts on TikTok on religious topics, according to Report.az.

Article 382 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan provides for criminal liability for inciting national, racial, social, or religious hatred, with a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.

Recall that at the beginning of the year, amendments to the law "On Information, Informatization and Information Protection" came into force in Azerbaijan, which establish liability for the dissemination of content on the Internet that contains "insult to public morality and open disrespect for society", as well as "indecent expressions, gestures, or demonstration of body parts in a manner inappropriate to morality and national-spiritual values".
