Ramzan Kadyrov reports to Vladimir Putin about progress in economy of Chechnya
At the meeting with the Russian President, Ramzan Kadyrov has reported to Vladimir Putin on the increase in the number of milk cows in Chechnya, the growth of teachers' salaries, and the reduction in unemployment. The President has expressed interest in the Ramzan Kadyrov's proposal to attend training of athletes of the "Edelweiss" Judo Club in Grozny.

Imam Makhmud Velitov left under house arrest until October 27
On August 25, the court extended by two other months the house arrest of Makhmud Velitov, Imam of the Moscow mosque "Yardyam", whose statements about Abdulla Gappaev, a religious figure killed in Kizlyar, were treated by investigators as a public justification of terrorism. The Imam's defence intends to appeal against the court's decision.

Advocate treats testimonies given by policemen in "Nardaran case" as contradictory
On August 25, the trial in the "Nardaran case" was interrupted because of the absence of advocates of a number of defendants. The defence believes that the court has intentionally suspended the hearings to give law enforcers enough time to get better prepared for the trial.

In Sochi, MoF and MIA challenge compensation to builder for his beating by policeman
In Sochi, the court has pronounced the decision in a civil lawsuit for compensation in the amount of 650,000 roubles for damage to health inflicted by a policeman to Pavel Solovyov, a builder from Novosibirsk. The dismissed policeman who served his sentence challenged the court's decision.

Activists report on law enforcers' promise to release all farmers
An official of the Prosecutor's Office of the Aksai District of the Rostov Region has promised to release all the detained farmers until the end of the day, report activists. According to them, the police actually disrupted the "tractor march."

32 athletes from countries of Southern Caucasus to compete at Paralympic Games in Rio
32 athletes from the countries of Southern Caucasus will take part in the Paralympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro on September 7-18. The national team of Azerbaijan is the most numerous one, and it includes 27 athletes. Georgia will be represented by three athletes, and Armenia by two athletes.
