Law enforcers report on prevention of killings of policemen in northern Chechnya
Residents of the Shelkovsky District of Chechnya, detained on January 31 on suspicion of intending to leave for Syria to join the militants, were plotting killings of policemen. This was reported by a source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Yerevan: three "Sasna Tsrer" supporters sentenced to prison term

Officials refuse to pay rent to residents of dilapidated houses in Derbent
On February 1, the Derbent residents, who are protesting against resettlement, met Ibragim Kazibekov, the Minister of Construction and Housing of Dagestan, and Ali Khazbulatov, the permanent representative of the head of the republic in Southern Dagestan. Freedom House recognizes South Ossetia and Azerbaijan as non-free
On January 31, the Freedom House published a report "Freedom in the World-2017" on the situation of human rights in independent and partially recognized countries, which are treated by rights defenders as "disputed territories".
