Dagestani parliament notes unofficial nature of its criticism of Chechen authorities

Court leaves Azerbaijani activist under arrest
In Baku, a court dismissed an appeal filed by Agil Gumbatov, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), who was arrested under the article on disobedience to the police. The activist associated the criminal proceedings against him with his video appeal to President Ilham Aliev.

Court fines Deputy Mufti of Ingushetia for participating in rally
In Magas, a court imposed a fine of 20,000 roubles on Musa Meiriev, the deputy chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Ingushetia, for participating in an unsanctioned action.

Authorities order Kadyrov's fellow villagers to dismantle their houses
Residents of the Khosi-Yurt village are dismantling their houses located at the family estate of Ramzan Kadyrov, since the authorities decided to expand the park in the village centre. In two weeks, people should take out all their necessary things; then, the houses will be demolished, residents of Chechnya have reported.

Azerbaijani activist tells about conversation with policemen after his post in support of Mamedov
Giyas Ibragimov, an activist of the "Nida" movement, was summoned to the Baku police after placing a post on the Facebook in support of the arrested activist Bairam Mamedov. Law enforcers talked to him and let him go, advising him to avoid such publications, the activist said.

NKR activists urge to set up Day of Defender of Combat Positions

Abkhaz activist released from police after locals' protest

Azerbaijani activist Bairam Mamedov claims torture
On April 2, the Baku Court of Appeal (BCA) dismissed the complaint against the arrest of Bairam Mamedov. After his allegations of torture, the BCA obliged the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the activist's complaints. His defence doubts that an efficient investigation will be conducted.
