Rally participant in Vladikavkaz arrested despite COVID-19 positive test

Arthur Bugulov, a resident of North Ossetia, has been arrested until June 21 on charges of hooliganism, despite his positive test for coronavirus, his advocate, Sergey Denisenko, has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Arthur Bugulov, a participant in the protest rally against the self-isolation regime held in Vladikavkaz, was detained on April 27 and arrested for 15 days.

On April 20, law enforcers dispersed several hundred opponents of the self-isolation regime who gathered in Vladikavkaz demanding the resignation of the government, parliament, and the head of North Ossetia. By May 1, North-Ossetian courts had issued 64 decisions on protesters' fines and arrests.

On May 10, the Supreme Court (SC) of North Ossetia dismissed the appeal complaint against Arthur Bugulov's arrest, his advocate, Sergey Denisenko, told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to the advocate, Bugulov was not released after serving his 15-day arrest, but was detained by policemen under the criminal case of hooliganism. The Leninsky District Court ruled to place him in custody until June 21, Mr Denisenko has added.

"The court has arrested him again, despite his confirmed coronavirus diagnosis," the advocate told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
