Half of those punished for rallies in Kalmykia are pensioners

Rezvan Ozdoev pleads not guilty to assaulting law enforcer
At a court hearing in Zheleznovodsk, Ingush activist Rezvan Ozdoev pleaded not guilty to assaulting a fighter of the National Guard of Russia during a rally in March 2019. The defence demanded to question a victim whose name was not disclosed.

Chechen policemen force law breakers to sweep streets
Law enforcers forced residents of the Kurchaloi District, punished for driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication, to clean the mosque territory. One of the chiefs of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division) called such violators "terrorists" and promised to seize their cars.

In Baku, police stop protest rally held by parents of defendants in "Ganja case"

Complaint about torture of convicted Kurchaloi residents sent to ECtHR
The Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial” has filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in the interests of fourteen Chechen residents convicted to long sentences for terrorism. Court fines initiator of failed rally in Elista
The Elista City Court imposed a fine of 5000 roubles on activist Semyon Ateev, who sought holding a rally against Dmitry Trapeznikov. The rally was not sanctioned by the authorities and did not take place, but Semyon Ateev should have notified the authorities concerning changing his mind about holding the event, the court decided. The activist says he intends to appeal against the court's decision.

Instagram users argue about detention of Chechen natives in Germany
Natives of Chechnya could not prepare a terror act in the country which granted asylum to them, and the German law enforcement authorities did not provide any objective reasons for their detention, note commentators on Instagram. PACE rapporteur condemns refusal to let opposition take part in elections in Azerbaijan
