Five participants in the protest held on May 6 against the conviction of activists of the "Nida" movement have been sentenced to administrative arrests for 15-20 days. They were found guilty of disobeying the police. Ten other persons were fined; and three other detainees were released after passing a warning.

On May 5, the Committee on Procedural Matters of the Assembly of the State of California (USA) decided to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian political analysts do not rule out that the decision could be influenced by Ukrainian events; however, they remind that such resolutions are not adopted by the US Government, which recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

On May 6, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes announced the verdict to eight activists of the movement "Nida", accused of organizing mass riots. Judge Djavid Guseinov handed down a guilty verdict and sentenced the young people to real prison terms ranging from 6 to 8 years. After the announcement of the verdict, a support group of more than a hundred people who gathered close to the courthouse began chanting "Freedom!"

Law enforcers have damaged a number of houses in a special operation conducted in Khasavyurt, a local told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
