Investigators report 19 victims in case of rebellion in Yerevan

44 people are involved as defendants in the case of the seizure of the building of the Armenian Police. Of them, 42 were arrested. This was reported by the Special Investigating Service of Armenia. Investigators urged not to treat arrests as a punitive measure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 17, supporters of the "Constituent Parliament" seized the building of the police patrol-and-post service. On the day of the assault, a police officer was killed, and six other persons were injured. On July 31, the rebels surrendered.

On August 2, the case of the armed seizure of the building of the patrol-and-post service of the police regiment was sent from the National Security Service to the Special Investigating Service.

44 people are involved in the case as defendants, and two others as suspects. 42 people, involved in the case, are arrested, and three of them receive medical treatment in hospitals. With regard to others, the court pronounced the pre-trial restriction measure, not related to arrest, announces the today's report of the Special Investigating Service.

"In the case, 19 people are recognized as victims. Of them, 10 suffered from being taken hostage. When giving legal assessment, investigators will take into account all acts of the persons, the probable involvement of each defendant, the degree of his involvement and severity of the consequences of his involvement," the "Caucasian Knot "correspondent was explained by an official from the Special Investigating Service.
