Ramzan Kadyrov's opponents treat detentions in Moscow as unmotivated
All the activists of the "Yabloko" Party, detained during a protest action for the resignation of the Chechen leader, are released from the police station. Sergey Mitrokhin, a member of the Party's Federal Political Committee, has said that he was twice searched and that his mobile phone was seized from him.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 26, Sergey Mitrokhin, Anton Antonov-Ovseenko, the head of the Party's Moscow public reception, and activist Stanislav Belyansky were brought to the OVD (Interior Division) of the Kitay-gorod District of Moscow after their attempt to enter the territory of the Russian Presidential Administration. They were detained when law enforcers asked Sergey Mitrokhin to unfold his poster. Sergey Mitrokhin was soon released.
According to Galina Mikhaleva, First Deputy Chair of the Moscow branch of the "Yabloko" Party, "the Kadyrov's actions are completely unacceptable and unconstitutional, and they incite hatred in our society and set the power against the opposition."
The "Yabloko" Party reports that on January 26, in Novosibirsk, its activists organized solo pickets for the resignation of Ramzan Kadyrov.
Khozh Magomed Vakhaev, a Chechen MP of the Russian State Duma, has responded to the action organized by the "Yabloko" Party and invited Sergey Mitrokhin to visit Chechnya and get acquainted with Ramzan Kadyrov. The State Duma deputy has also called the actions of Sergey Mitrokhin and his companions "a PR action", the IA "National News Service" reports.
