Today it became known that the pardoned prisoner Denis Kulanin declared a hunger strike in the migration department, and the hearing on his deportation is scheduled for August 30, reports the television company "Pirveli".

"I visited Denis Kulanin in the Migration Department. Unfortunately, he declared a hunger strike because he does not know where his passport is, which was confiscated at the time of his arrest. I asked him to end the hunger strike because we have taken his tickets. We will try to find his passport on Monday," said activist Marina Meskhi, as reported by "Formula".

Meskhi reported that Kulanin has noticeably lost weight and looked very pale. According to her, he completely did not understand what was happening to him and what awaited him: no one explained anything to him or provided any information. The lawyer and the activist tried to calm Kulanin and explained to him that a plane ticket to a third country had already been purchased for him, writes Tbilisi Life.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024.
