The suspect in the murder of a Russian in Tbilisi has been detained.

A citizen of Armenia was detained in Tbilisi for the murder of a Russian after a conflict in a supermarket.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the body of a 40-year-old citizen of Russia was discovered by passersby in a park near the Baratasvili monument in the center of Tbilisi on the morning of August 28. The murder was preceded by a conflict in the supermarket, and the location where the body was found is not equipped with surveillance cameras.

According to the investigation, during the quarrel, the accused inflicted several blows with a cold weapon and a blunt object on the opponent, after which he fled. The victim died on the spot from the injuries sustained.

Police identified and detained the alleged criminal shortly after the incident. The weapon used in the crime has been seized as evidence.

The case is being investigated under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia ("intentional murder"). The accused faces 10 to 15 years in prison.
