Georgia: fight bursts out in "Kavkasiya" TV Company

In the evening on May 7 a scuffle happened in the premises of the "Kavkasiya" TV Company, which started in the course of television debates on the book of young author Erekle Deisadze "Last Meeting" (by analogy to "Last Supper"). The book, according to experts, is cosmopolite and aimed against Christianity.

Dissatisfied with the course of the discussion, which was broadcast live on air, the author of the book demonstratively left the hall; however, in the street he was waited for by members of the radical Orthodox grouping "Union of Orthodox Parents", who, according to reports in the media, beat him and his friend who accompanied him.

Later, a crowd of radicals rushed into the studio, where a fight burst out, which grew into a pogrom. Several persons suffered, including employees and journalists of the TV Company, as reported by the "Interfax".

The patrol police had to interfere, and the order was restored. The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has already initiated a criminal case in the context of the events in the TV studio, the "News-Georgia" reports.
