The Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation has presented a charge of murdering Hero of Russia, ex-deputy of the State Duma Ruslan Yamadaev to Aslambek Dadaev. According to the investigation, Dadaev was the direct gunman.

The believing Moslems of Chechnya celebrated their Uraza-Bairam ('Id al-Fitr) yesterday, on September 21. Like in recent years, the celebrations in the republic passed later than in other Russian regions and other Moslem countries. The believers blame local clergy for these discrepancies and doubt the reason of their actions.

The "Mashr" human rights organization, in its turn, reports that the count of kidnappings has decreased, but the number of murders is on the rise. Human rights activists assert that the process of inquiry into the murder of the well-known Chechen human rights defender Natalia Estemirova is under pressure. As reported today by Alexander Cherkasov, a member of the Board of the HRC "Memorial", they had to take one of the witnesses - an employee of the "Memorial" - away from Chechnya for this reason.
