Prior to his death, the resident of Ingushetia, who threw a grenade at policemen in the Chechen Cossack village of Pervomaiskaya, entered a conflict and a fight with policemen. This was reported by local residents. According to their version, the body of the deceased man was given out to his relatives.

The Moscow City Court (MCC) has postponed the hearing of parties' arguments on the murder case of Anna Politkovskaya, an observer of the "Novaya Gazeta", till 14. The reason was in the vacation of Alexei Mikhalchik, an advocate for the defendant Sergey Khadjikurbanov, who had duly informed the court about it.

Russia has asked Georgia to extradite natives of Northern Caucasus, including Mikhail Kadiev and Yusup Lakaev, accused of resonance killings, said the Ombudsman of Georgia Ucha Nanuashvili. He sent a memo to the Prosecutor's Office asking not to do it.

The earthquake that hit the Vedeno District of Chechnya in the morning on April 27 caused no human victims or destructions, a source from the Republic's Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
