The advocate of Ramzan Belyalov, who is kept in the Pyatigorsk SIZO (pre-trial prison) named "Bely Lebed" (White Swan), has filed complaints to the Russia's General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) and the Chief Investigating Department (ChID) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) because of the unwillingness of investigators to interrogate the witnesses, who can confirm the alibi of his client in relation to the militants' attack on the city of Budyonnovsk.

A resident of the Chechen capital, detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting members of the armed underground, has made a confession. This was reported by an official from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). According to the MIA's official, a 23-year-old resident of Chechnya was detained during the search operations on June 16.

Ramzan Belyalov, a defendant in the case of the armed attack on Budyonnovsk in 1995, has been transferred from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of the city of Yessentuki to the "White Swan", the SIZO of Pyatigorsk. This was reported by Khusein Belyalov, a detainee's son. Relatives, friends, and defenders of the detainee declare his innocence.
