Following complaints from Makhachkala residents, the republic's office of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) took water samples at five locations where water is supplied from Lake Vuzovskoye. All samples showed that the water did not meet hygiene standards for taste, odor, and turbidity.

Water has been standing on the streets of Krasnodar for several days, but no water has been pumped out, local residents complained on social media.
