Contrary to recommendation not to visit mosques because of the pandemic, some believers in Makhachkala are planning to perform collective namazes (prayers) during the holiday of Eid al-Adha, but decided to give up visiting relatives and making mass sacrifices.

All the collective and Friday namazes (prayers) have been suspended in the mosques of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) by the decision of the republic’s Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) due to the spread of coronavirus. Believers are advised to hold the Eid al-Adha prayers in mosque yards or in spacious places.

In Chechnya, the coronavirus operative headquarters has decided to limit the occupancy rate of mosques and temples by 50%, provided that parishioners wear masks and present their vaccination certificates, the TASS informs with reference to Rita Termulaeva, the head of “Rospotrebnadzor” branch in Chechnya.

After the introduction of new requirements for checking in hotels, sanatoriums and boarding houses of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban by the name of the main river), tourists have cancelled about 30 percent of reservations for July and more than 70 percent for August, the Association of Russian Tour Operators has informed.
