Azamat Tseboev, a resident of North Ossetia, who is serving his sentence in the high-security penal colony No. 1 in Vladikavkaz and who claimed being unlawfully held in custody after having served his sentence, was placed into the dungeon. During the May Day celebrations, policemen of the Volgograd Region held extensive checks at DPS (road-and-post service) checkpoints, local residents report. According to a source from the local GIBDD (traffic police), the checks have to do with a search for four residents of Dagestan, suspected of involvement in terror acts, and will last until May 12.

The advocates of Murad Shuaybov, accused of murdering journalist Abdulmalik Akhmedilov, are preparing an appeal against the decision of the Lenin District Court of Makhachkala to run the trial behind closed doors. One of them, Adilgerey Omarov, reports that at the court session his client Shuaybov said that he was tortured during the investigation.
