Igor Vasiliev, the leader of the Sochi Branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), has addressed the reception office of President Vladimir Putin asking him to take action in connection with the placement of Alexei Goryachkin, an assistant of Sergey Obukhov, a State Duma MP, into a temporary detention facility (known as the IVS).

A new minivan was given to Bashir Pliev, a resident of Ingushetia, who in March was transporting journalists and human rights defenders in the region together with them fell victim to an attack. The minivan will be insured, notes Igor Kalyapin, the leader of the "Committee for the Prevention of Torture".

An explosion of an artillery shell occurred within a private household in the village of Djepel, Magaramkent District of Dagestan. Four people were injured, one – a five-year-old child – died.

Relatives of Ariskhan Movsarov, a conscript from Chechnya, who took his military service in the brigade deployed in Maikop, the capital of Adygea, cannot establish his whereabouts for more than two weeks. Movsarov had no conflicts with his fellow-servicemen; and the command of the unit would not report why he is absent at his place of service, relatives assert.
