Advocate of Khaiser Djemilev announces his intention to re-file motion for CER

The decision of the Astrakhan court to refuse conditional early relief (CER) for Khaiser Djemilev can be explained by the political position of his father Mustafa Djemilev, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar movement. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by advocate Nikolai Polozov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, 2015, the Krasnodar Regional Court found Khaiser Djemilev guilty of the murder of a family friend by negligence and of theft and possession of weapons. Khaiser Djemilev was sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony. He is serving his sentence in Astrakhan. On February 25, the District Court of Astrakhan refused Khaiser Djemilev of CER, and on April 28, the Astrakhan Regional Court upheld the decision.

"For us, it is absolutely clear that no one is going to release him on CER. It is connected with the political position, with the role of his father. Therefore, he will be kept in prison until he serves his sentence to the very end," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nikolai Polozov, the advocate of Khaiser Djemilev.

According to him, in August, the defence will re-file to the court a motion on release on CER.
