The Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has launched the investigation into the criminal case on abuse of power committed by staff members of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), suspected of using violence against Magomed Daliev, who died during interrogation at a police station, and his wife Marem Tochieva.

The criminal charges brought against Dagestani athlete Said Osmanov in the case on desecration of a statue of Buddha in Elista are unfounded. Witnesses do not confirm that Said Osmanov had publicly scolded a statue of Buddha sacred for Buddhist. The athlete could be prosecuted for disorderly conduct in connection with the use of bad language in a public place, believes his advocate Murad Velikhanov.

Today, supporters of the opposition has staged a march through central Yerevan in support of the capturers of the building of the police patrol-and-guard regiment. The march turned into a sit-in picket at the crossroads of Mashtots Avenue and Tumanyan Street, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the venue.

Today, a regiment of the patrol-and-security service of the Armenian police has been attacked in Yerevan. The people inside the building were taken hostage. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by members of the opposition "Constituent Parliament", who demanded to release political prisoners, including their leader Zhirair (Jirair) Sefilyan.
