The explosion at the Moscow Domodedovo Airport on January 24 became the 26th terror act committed in the Russian capital since 1996, and the first one committed in a Moscow international airport. Since 1996, terrorists attacked various crowded places in Moscow: hotels, public transport stations, trade centres, concert halls, transport means and even residential buildings, killing at least 627 persons and injuring 934 ones. At least 10 of these explosions were carried out by suicide bombers. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on data from open sources.

According to the updated list of victims of the terror act in Domodedovo, posted on the website of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Russia, among those hospitalized there were citizens of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Serbia and France - one of each; the list also includes three citizens of Tajikistan, two citizens of Moldova and one - of Uzbekistan.

The Russian Supreme Court (SC) refused to change the territorial jurisdiction of the case dealing with the death of six Moscow schoolchildren on the Yeisk Spit in the Azov Sea on July 7, 2010, having rejected the petition of the victims, who asked to transfer the trial from the Yeisk City Court to Moscow.

Twenty persons were detained on suspicion of involvement in a mass brawl that occurred yesterday, on January 23, in the south of St Petersburg. Eight of them are the natives of Azerbaijan. At present, the suspects are questioned by law enforcement officials.

The experts, who examined the scene of the explosion in Domodedovo, came to the conclusion that a suicide bomber blew himself up in the terminal building. Supposedly, his head was found in the venue.

The explosion was triggered near the customs control at Domodedovo; therefore, according to eyewitnesses, there are many foreign nationals among the victims of the terror act. According to the statement posted on the website of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the total count of victims went up to 152, 58 of them were hospitalized, and 31 persons died. According to other sources, 35 persons were killed.
