Terror act in Domodedovo could be prepared by "Nogai Battalion", says source from law enforcement bodies

According to the source, members of the so-called "Nogai Battalion", who took revenge on power agents for conducted special operations, could be involved in the terror act in Domodedovo Airport.

He noted that in October 2010, power agents conducted an operation in the Stavropol Territory against the members of the "Nogai Battalion", who had organized large-scale terror acts in the region. As a result, three militants were detained in the Neftekumsk District (later they were convoyed to Moscow) and two more were killed.

According to the source, a month after these events operative agents received data that three members of the "Nogai Battalion" left for Moscow with the aim to prepare everything for explosions involving women suicide bombers.

On December 31 an explosion occurred in the guest house of the shooting club "Object", located in the territory of the Kuzminki Forest Park. A woman's body was found in the ruins. According to the investigation, an occasional explosion of a self-made bomb happened. According to the source, the casualty was the widow of one of the leaders of the "Nogai Battalion".

Operative agents found out that the guest house was rented by Zeinap Suyunova, 24, a resident of the Neftekumsk District. She was a student of a medical school in Pyatigorsk and the wife of one of the militants of the "Nogai Battalion", who was arrested in the special operation in October 2010. The girl was put on the search list; and militiamen managed to detain her on January 5 in Volgograd.

According to the informant, she could not help to locate the whereabouts of the three militants, who were preparing explosions in Moscow. Suspects' descriptions were spread among Moscow militia units.

The source has reported that operative agents managed to restore, by using records of video surveillance cameras and eyewitnesses' evidences, the approximate succession of events. On January 24, the suicide bomber arrived at the car park at the Domodedovo Airport; and about 4:00 p.m. he entered the hall from the car park. Supposedly, he was accompanied by two other men.

Then the suicide bomber walked up to the café "Asia", where the crowd was the densest, stopped and put the bag on the floor. At 4:32 p.m. the explosion was triggered. "The remains of the alleged bomber are enough for his identification," said the source as quoted by the "Rosbalt".

Experts tend to believe that the explosive device was triggered by the terrorist, who closed the circuit; however, it cannot be ruled out that it could be done remotely.

Earlier, the investigation refuted the information that the explosion at the Moscow Domodedovo  Airport was committed by two suicide bombers. According to preliminary data, the explosive device was triggered by a stout-bodied male, 30-40 years old, most likely of European appearance.

So far, nobody has taken responsibility for the blast in Domodedovo.

According to the militia, the "Nogai Battalion", composed of residents of the Neftekumsk District, Stavropol Territory, acted against power agents in Chechnya. However, Ahmed Yarlykapov, the leading expert of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, had earlier stated that "the "Nogai Battalion" does not exist in the Stavropol Territory, and the very use of the term "Nogai Battalion" creates tension and is beneficial for separatists.
