On July 5 the Supreme Court of Dagestan will consider the appeal of the Prosecutor's Office of the republic to the verdict of the Lenin Federal Court of Makhachkala dated May 19, 2011. The Prosecutor's Office demands to cancel the acquittal of the journalists of the Dagestani weekly newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft).

Sergei Kaziev, the defendant in the case of the attack on Nalchik on October 13, 2005, which is under proceedings at by the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria, filed a motion for consideration of the case without his presence due to health deterioration. Today's court hearing was adjourned until Thursday, July 7, due to Sergei Kaziev's disease.

Magomed Evloev and Alikhan Dovtaev, residents of the village of Nesterovskaya, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, were detained on suspicion of possessing weapons and explosives. The law enforcement authorities of Azerbaijan detained the fourth suspect in beating on 15 June in Baku of Amanda Erickson, an American journalist, and Celia Davis, a British human rights activist. This is Nazim Khuseinov, a resident of Babak District of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR). All four detainees said that they did not know who the girls were and that initially they wanted to get acquainted with them.
