On July 19, the Kirov Regional Court released Alexei Navalny, a convicted opposition member and a blogger, a candidate for the position of Mayor of Moscow, on recognizance not to leave the country during the appeal process.

A flash mob in support of Alexei Navalny, a candidate for the Mayor of Moscow, who was sentenced on July 18 to 5 years in prison on charges of embezzlement of the property of the state-owned company "Kirovles", was held in Krasnodar with participation of about 200 people.

The two persons killed during a shootout with power agents in the Lak District of Dagestan, have been preliminarily identified as Shamil Abdulmedjidov and Magomedtagir Timirchiev, the press service of the republic's MIA has reported. Abdulmedjidov and Timirchiev had been earlier put on the so-called "Khadjalmakhi execution list" and were kidnapped, their relatives assert.

Four men, who were killed in the Baksan District of Kabardino-Balkaria, were preparing a series of terror acts in the republic, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported.
