The Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) has finished its inquiry into the case of blowing up, in August 2007, of the "Neva-Express" train. The materials of the case have been sent to the General Prosecutor's Office for approval of the bill of particulars, as Alexander Bastrykin, head of the ICPO, told to the Collegium of the General Prosecutor's Office on February 25.

In Dagestan, three journalists of the newspaper named "Chernovik" (Blueprint) were charged under part 1, Article 282, of the Criminal Code, assuming criminal liability for kindling hatred or enmity, and humiliation of human dignity. Earlier, the accusation was presented to Nadira Isaeva, editor-in-chief of the paper.

On February 26, Azerbaijan marks 17th anniversary of events in Khodzhaly, also known as "Khodzhaly tragedy". At night on February 26, 1992, the town of Khodzhaly located in Nagorno-Karabakh and inhabited by Azerbaijanis was seized by Armenian armed units with active participation of the then 366th motorized rifle regiment of the former Soviet Army.

Today, the European Court on Human Rights has unanimously convicted Russia for disappearances of four men in different areas of Chechnya in the period from August 2002 to December 2004. The applicants were awarded compensation for material and mental damage in the sum of 157,000 euros.
