The Dagestani investigating authorities are studying the murder of an operative agent of the Khasavyurt GOVD (City Interior Division), committed at night on November 25 in a city suburb. The murder had to do with the policeman's professional duties, investigators believe.

Four years ago, on November 27, 2009, near the village of Lykoshino, a crashed of the high-speed "Neva-Express" Train en route from Moscow to Saint Petersburg took place, killing 28 people and injuring over 130 others. According to investigators, the crash was a result of a terror act, prepared and committed by ten residents of the Ingush village of Ekazhevo, who were later charged and convicted.

The Ethnographic Museum of Hamburg has opened an exhibition dedicated to Circassian nationals. Wulf Koepke, the Director of the Museum has noted that the exhibition has to do with the upcoming Olympics and is not directed against Russia.

The Krasnodar Territorial Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports has announced the amount of prize money for any local athlete who will win at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. According to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan, the madrasa teacher Arslanali Shakhbulatov, who was shelled in the evening on November 25 by unidentified persons, had not received any threats. The MIA regards his religious activities as the main version of the attack.
