The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has upheld the complaint filed by journalist Alexander Lashmankin and 22 other applicants and ordered Russia to pay them 183,550 euros for failures to sanction rallies. The mentioned rallies also include an unsanctioned rally in memory of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova.

The young men, detained on January 31 in the Shelkovsky District of Chechnya on suspicion of trying to leave for Syria to join the ranks of militants, stayed at a police station for three days. The Dagestani leadership continues seeking the resignation of Zacharia Amirov from the post of the Mayor of Buynaksk after his early return from vacations, the journalists Magomed Magomedov and Ramazan Rajabov have reported. About 25 residents of Sochi have come today to Vereschagin Bridge, where the 36-year-old Nadezhda Degteryova perished nine days ago. They expressed their condolences to the mother of the deceased, and promised to support the elderly woman and demand from law enforcers to punish those guilty of her daughter’s death.
