Today, in the centre of Kiev, journalist Pavel Sheremet has been killed in a car bombing. He was a well-known journalist, who worked in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. He is the author of the documentary film "The Chechen Diary" and the book "Saakashvili/Georgia. Dead Dreams". According to the preliminary version of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the car was blown up by an explosive device.

In the Rostov Region, miners of the "Kingcoal" have got a sanction from the authorities for a series of the pickets, which they intend to continue until September 19. In the case if their demands for payment of wages and abolition of fines and fees for overdue loans and debts for housing and utilities are not met, the miners intend to use other legal methods to struggle for their rights. This was announced by participants of the protest campaign.

The criminal charges brought against Dagestani athlete Said Osmanov in the case on desecration of a statue of Buddha in Elista are unfounded. Witnesses do not confirm that Said Osmanov had publicly scolded a statue of Buddha sacred for Buddhist. The athlete could be prosecuted for disorderly conduct in connection with the use of bad language in a public place, believes his advocate Murad Velikhanov.
