Two activists of the "Ecological Watch for North Caucasus" (EcoWatch) and a journalist of the "Dozhd" (Rain) TV Channel "Rain" were taken to the police station after being kept for five hours by employees of a private security company near the city of Gelendzhik. Alexander Sidorov, a blogger from the city of Tomsk, who held a picket in Makhachkala in defence of homosexual rights, and was beaten up afterwards, has left Dagestan. The blogger told the "Caucasian Knot" that policemen would not take his application about the attack, and insulted him.

Valery Brinikh, the chairman of the All-Russian Society for Protection of Environment, has filed to the police a complaint with a request to verify the information stating that some sheep sent to Adygea by the order of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov for Eid al-Adha were not allocated to the poor. According to the ecologist, who also sent an appeal to Ramzan Kadyrov, the sheep were stolen by local officials.
