Murder of kidnapped guy triggers unrest in Akhty village

Residents of Dagestani villages of Akhty and Fiy have gathered near the police station, demanding to give out the killer of Bairam Omarov, a 19-year-old local resident. Law enforcers, who had declared Omarov the initiator of his own kidnapping, have reported the suppression of the unrests.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 18, the Dagestani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIA) told about a staged kidnapping of a young resident of the Akhty District for the sake of ransom. On January 9, a resident of the district told the police that unidentified people kidnapped his son and demand 1.5 million roubles of ransom.

As stated by law enforcers stated, the 19-year-old guy staged his kidnapping with the help of a friend in order to take possession of his father's money.

Bairam Omarov was found killed in the village of Jaba, Akhty District, a month after his kidnapping, the "Chernovik" reports referring to Abdul Omarov, the guy's father.

The murder has triggered great resonance in Akhty and the neighbouring village of Fiy, where the casualty's family had come from. A video record of the gathering at the police station in the village of Akhty appeared in social networks, including the Derbent Live Channel on the YouTube.

Indignation of local residents was caused by the fact that the alleged killer is a relative of a high-ranking ex-law enforcer.
