In spring and summer of 2017, 32 members of the armed underground, including six militant leaders, were killed in Northern Caucasus as a result of counterterrorist operations (CTOs). Also, 133 kilograms of explosives were confiscated; and 35 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were neutralized, the “Rosgvardia” (National Guard of the Russian Federation) has reported today.

The commander of one of the regiments of the “Rosgvardia” (National Guard of the Russian Federation) was beaten up and removed from his post in Chechnya after complaints of his subordinates about his systematic extortions from their salaries, a source from Chechen power structures told the "Caucasian Knot".

In Dagestan, two militants were killed in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) area. According to the NAC, the people killed in the outskirts of the Teletl village in the Shamil District were identified as members of the Shamil grouping, which committed several killings in 2015-2016.
