The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17-18, Georgian law enforcers detained David Kirkitadze, a member of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, and another man, born in 1986. Mr Kirkitadze went on a hunger strike; and about one hundred UNM activists gathered today for a protest action in front of the courthouse in Gurjaani.

After clashes in the Gurjaani District, the police detained two more oppositionists, born in 1967 and 1971. Thus, the total number of detainees has reached four, the Georgian MIA says in its message received today by the "Caucasian Knot".
