The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has sent questions to the government of Russia on the complaint of a woman from Ingushetia about the extrajudicial execution of her son Muslim Kuriev, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has reported today.

Today, the police and independent observers counted about 1000 participants of the rally, organized by supporters of the opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Volgograd. According to volunteers, about 1800 were present at the rally.

On November 9, the Volgograd emergency services got to their mailboxes the letters reporting preparation of terror acts. Anonymous letters alleged that bombs had been planted in cinemas, schools, and shopping centres. Anonymous authors noted law enforcers have one day only to find explosive devices, the Volgograd edition "City News" reports.

A list with the names of 231 Russian citizens, most of whom are natives of Chechnya and Dagestan, has been handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to resolve the problem of their return from Iraq to their homeland. This has been reported by Joanna Paraschuk, an analyst of the British analytical centre IHS.

Law enforcers have detained several residents of the Dagestani village of Rutul, accusing them of setting fire to the district administration building, their fellow villagers have reported. Relatives of the detained men assert that narcotic drugs and ammunition were planted on them at detention.

Today, Karen Karapetyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, met a group of striking Yerevan students and asked them to wait till the adoption of the law that would cancel the postponement of the military service.
