A kadi in Chechnya promised to raise the issue of inadmissibility of compulsion of women to observe Islamic dress-code

A round table conference was held on September, 17, in the district center of Itum-Kale, Chechen republic. It was devoted to the problems of women in Chechnya and arranged by a regional non-governmental organization "Trust" dealing with protection of women's rights. Abu-Said Aziev, kadi of Itum-Kale district participating in the conference declared that no man who was not a woman's relative had a right to admonish on her appearance.

A bomb exploded near the Teachers' training university in Makhachkala

A homemade explosive device was activated on September, 27, near V.I. Lenin monument located in front of the building of Dagestan State Teachers' training university (DSTTU) in the capital of Dagestan. Women of Kabardino-Balkaria fear of extrajudicial execution of their searched sons

During three days of special operation in Chechnya one power agent is lost and 10 wounded

One law enforcement officer perished and ten of his colleagues were wounded during a special operation aimed to search a militant conducted in Chechnya since September 24. This was reported by the Investigatory Department (ID) for Chechnya of the Russian ICPO (Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office). Local experts believe that the large-scale operation was a sort of Kadyrov's response to the militants' attack on Tsentoroi village, Kurchaloi District, in late August.
