UN HRC adopts resolution on journalists' safety
A resolution calling to ensure the safety of journalists and media workers has been adopted by the Human Rights Council (HRC) of the United Nations (UN). The human rights organization "Article 19", which gave advice on the resolution, has again urged Russia to resume the investigation into the murder of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev.

Two persons perished and at least 73 suffered from nature rampancy in Southern Russia
In the Yeisk District of the Krasnodar Territory, the storm killed a man; and in the Vesioly District of the Rostov Region, a woman died from the injuries caused by fall of a tree on the car. In total, according to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), 73 people sought medical care after the nature attack.

Azerbaijan: head of "Promoting Democracy" sentenced conditionally and released in courtroom
Azerbaijan has announced a verdict to Emil Mamedov, the head of the NGO "Promoting Democracy". The court sentenced him, as well as another employee of the NGO, who had slandered Mamedov during the investigation, to one year of condition imprisonment each. Both were released in the courtroom.
