Relatives of Ingush activist Akhmed Barakhoev, who was arrested after a rally in Magas and who went on hunger strike, are seriously concerned over his health state, reports Ilez Barakhoev, a son of the activist. The hunger strike has become for Akhmed Barakhoev a way to fight for the detainees' rights, believes Ruslan Mutsolgov, the head of the local branch of the "Yabloko" Party.

It was decided to restore seven dwelling settlements in the Galanchozh District of Chechnya that is bordering on Ingushetia, the Chechen authorities have reported. The future resettlers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" expect that authorities will help them with employment.

The attempt to disperse the rally in Magas was unjustified; and persecutions of Ingush activists will aggravate the conflict of republic's residents with the authorities, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has stated. After the protests in Ingushetia, law enforcers visited owners of weapons, whose weapon permits had expired, reported human rights defender Magomed Mutsolgov and Malsag Uzhakhov, the head of the Council of Teips of the Ingush People. An expired weapon permit is not a reason for detention of a person if the weapon is kept at home, lawyers note.
