Investigators soften charges against six protesters in Magas
Investigators suggested that the actions of Ingush activists arrested after a rally did not threaten the lives of public officers, advocate Magomed Bekov reported. However, the arrested activists still face charges of using violence, although not life-threatening, against policemen.

Georgian authorities reject accusations of violating demarcation line with South Ossetia
The new Georgian police post is located near the village of Chorchana; and the Georgian jurisdiction covers this territory, the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia has declared. The South Ossetia's statement is a tactical move in response to claims caused by the bordering, Mamuka Areshidze, a political analyst, believes.

Khusein Mezhidov's award provokes criticism of Chechen Ombudsman
Chechen Ombudsman Nurdi Nukhazhiev has awarded several law enforcers for their "contribution to protection of the citizens' rights." The most honourable award went to Khusein Mezhidov, a fellow villager of Ramzan Kadyrov, who threatened to kill blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov.

Authorities of South Ossetia deploy border guards in area of Georgian checkpoint
Border guard patrols were deployed in the vicinity of the South Ossetian village of Tsnelis, not far from which the Georgian armed forces arranged a checkpoint. People from Georgia went to the village all summer and paved their way through the forest to the hill on which the checkpoint was arranged, local residents reported.

A court in Baku has dismissed the motion of the defence to change the freedom restriction measure of Ikram Ragimov, a journalist, whose health condition has worsened because of his hunger strike. The court has also refused to re-investigate his case, while Ragimov has stated that he will continue his hunger strike.

South Ossetia opposes construction of Georgian border checkpoint
Border guards have held a raid of armoured vehicles near the village of Tsnelis, where Georgian militaries are erecting a checkpoint, the South-Ossetia Committee for State Security (known as the KGB) has reported. Georgia has violated the border and committed an act of aggression, the South-Ossetian Parliament has announced.
