Makhachkala residents help protesting Afghan War veterans
Residents of the houses located near the Makhachkala park, where already for 14 days several dozens of Afghan War veterans demand a meeting with the head of Dagestan Vladimir Vasiliev, by bringing food and water to them. The veterans intend not to stop their action until their demand is satisfied.

Rights defenders: "Ganja case" defendant dies because of torture in Azerbaijan
On September 29, Eshgin Guliev, a participant of the protests in Ganja, died in a prison hospital. Eshgin Guliev was seriously ill, and his health state was deteriorated by torture and an unfair sentence, human rights defenders stated.

Dagestani teenager's confession to father's murder triggers debates about crisis of family values
Three persons were detained on suspicion of killing a resident of Dagestan, including his 16-year-old son, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Law enforcers also released a video with the teenager's confession. Some users of social networks associated the brutality of young people with a lack of upbringing care.

Residents of Grozny criticize idea to name village after the tsar's general

Chechen native complains about pressure in colony
Beslan Dadaev, a convicted native of Chechnya, said that in his colony in Karelia he was not allowed to pray. According to his sister, Dadaev was beaten up, placed into the dungeon (punishment cell) and prevented from making ablutions because he refused to cooperate with the colony administration.
