Azerbaijan: US, Great Britain Embassies and offices of western companies are afraid of terror acts

In Azerbaijan, because of terrorist threats, Embassies of the USA and Great Britain, as well as offices of western companies are still closed.

The US Embassy will be closed for visitors on October 30 too. Jonathan Henick, head of the PR Department of the US Embassy in Baku, said in his talk with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. He did not explain the reason, however, most likely, it is connected with the threat to the Embassy's safety from radical Wahhabites, which was reported on October 29 by the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan.

The Embassy of Great Britain has also confirmed a limited operating schedule for October 30. On October 29, the traffic in the vicinity of both Embassies was restricted, and in front of the British Embassy it was blocked completely by police units.

Because of security measures and to prevent the threat of possible terror acts, many companies, located in the Landmark Business Centre, are closed today.

All this gives grounds to speak that not all the members of the Wahhabite grouping have been detained by the authorities. In particular, Kyamran Asadov, senior lieutenant of armed forces, who had stolen and brought to Baku several sub-machine and one machine gun.

The "Caucasian Knot" informed earlier that, according to statements of Azerbaijani special agencies, an attempt of committing terror acts against diplomatic missions of foreign countries and governmental bodies was successfully stopped: a major grouping of militants was liquidated, one of the terrorists was killed.
