Local residents stop fencing Sochi Cargo Port

For the third time already, residents of the Imereti Valley have stopped the builders of the "Second Cargo District of Sochi Port", or more precisely, the construction of the protective fence around this object. And now the citizens have coped with the construction contractor - the Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "Rosmorport", this time without militia's help.

The attempt was undertaken on September 8, as before, in the land of the State Farm "Rossiya", said Alexei Zubanov, Chairman of Board of the Association of Investors and Businessmen of the Imereti Valley. Same as before, the builders could not present any required permits.

The events took place in the area of the hotbeds belonging to the State Farm "Rossiya", where the contractor brought a crane, a tractor and a truck with slabs. The difference from the previous incident was in that this time K. L. Sirotnyuk, representative of the FSUE "Rosmorport" was not among the people who arrived; there were no trees wrecked by machinery. This time, local residents were just in time.

The residents and representatives of territorial body of public self-government "Psou" have asked to show documents on performance of works, Mr Zubanov continued. However, no documents were presented. After three hours of confrontation the construction machines left the land of the State Farm "Rossiya".

"It is remarkable," Mr Zubanov said, "that all this has happened after several days earlier - on September 4 - the OVD (Interior Department) of the Adler District refused the residents of the Imereti Valley to initiate a criminal case on the previous fact - illegal cut-out of green plantings by the contractor - the FSUE 'Rosmorport'."
