The prosecutor's office demanded the confiscation of Alexander Nesterenko's property.

The court in Krasnodar will consider a claim for the transfer to the state of the property of former Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Krai Alexander Nesterenko and his wife in the amount of 20.5 million rubles.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", at the end of August, the court sentenced former Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Krai Alexander Nesterenko to nine years in a penal colony with the recovery of 146.7 million rubles in property damage, finding him guilty of exceeding his official powers. He is also prohibited from holding positions in public service and local government for three years.

The Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar registered a claim from the prosecutor's office of Krasnodar Krai for the confiscation of movable and immovable property of Alexander Nesterenko based on the discrepancy between the official's expenses and his income, Interfax reports today.

The co-plaintiff in the case is the interregional territorial administration of Rosimushchestvo in Krasnodar Krai and Adygea. The defendant, in addition to the former official, is also Galina Nesterenko. The administration of Krasnodar Krai is involved as a third party.

The prosecutor's claim concerns an apartment in Krasnodar worth 13.5 million rubles and a Range Rover car worth 7 million rubles. According to the supervisory authority, the official income of the family of the former deputy governor did not allow for the purchase of such property, reports Kommersant.

Defender Alexander Burnaev, who represents the interests of the former deputy governor's family, stated that the apartment was purchased in 2022 with a mortgage when Alexander Nesterenko worked in a commercial structure, and later took the position of head of the state institution "Main Department of Construction of Krasnodar Krai". According to the lawyer, given the position held, he was not on the list of persons subject to expense control.

Moreover, at the time of the car purchase, the annual income of Alexander Nesterenko's wife reached 26 million rubles. According to a family representative, the prosecutor's office in its claim suggests not to consider this data, claiming that the status of individual entrepreneur of Galina Nesterenko is fictitious.

The supervisory authority believes that the entrepreneurial activity of the former official's wife could have been used to conceal his illegal actions.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in mid-September, the court recognized as lawful the seizure of property of former judge of the Krasnodar Krai Court Elena Khakhalova and her family members in favor of the state. Shares in the authorized capital of four commercial organizations, 73 land plots, and about 100 residential and non-residential buildings and premises, as well as funds in the accounts of the defendants, totaling more than 15.5 million rubles, were transferred to the state.
