A resident of Nalchik was fined for discrediting the army.

The court in Nalchik fined local resident Azamat Balkizov, recognizing that the video he published in the messenger discredited the military.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 4, 2022, responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for a fine of up to 100,000 rubles for citizens, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.

According to the case materials, Nalchik resident Azamat Balkizov posted a video in the WhatsApp* messenger, the content of which the security forces deemed discrediting to the army. They drew up a protocol against Balkizov and sent the materials to court.

The Nalchik City Court found Azamat Balkizov guilty of discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation and fined him 30,000 rubles, as reported in the case card published on the court's website.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier the court fined a resident of the Cherek district, Kazbek Kazakov, recognizing that the video he published on the social network "VKontakte" discredited the military.
