Pro-European protests in Tbilisi have been ongoing for 587 days.

Despite the heavy rain, supporters of Georgia's Eurointegration gathered on the 587th day of protests at the walls of parliament and demanded the release of political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 6, the 586th day of daily protests, participants of the gathering on Rustaveli Avenue demanded the release of political prisoners and a return to the country's Euro-Atlantic course.

Participants of the continuous protest action on Rustaveli Avenue gathered today in front of the building of the Parliament of Georgia for the 587th evening in a row. They demanded the release of political prisoners, the repeal of repressive laws, the holding of free parliamentary elections, and a return to the course of Eurointegration, reports Publika.

Demonstrators sheltered from the heavy rain under umbrellas and against the walls of parliament. Together, the gathered chanted: “Freedom to the regime's prisoners!”. At least 100 people participated in the action, according to a video published by Netgazeti.

There were fewer protesters with placards on this rainy day than usual. One of the few placards read: “Freedom!”, according to photos published by photographer Giorgi Mosiashvili (Mo Se) on Facebook*.

Participants in the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces have conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and have detained protesters.
