Salmonella has been found in three employees of the Astrakhan grocery store "Mikhailovsky".

Three employees of the Astrakhan grocery store "Mikhailovsky", whose products were consumed by the victims of the mass poisoning, have been found to have salmonella bacteria. The daughter of a woman who died from this poisoning reported that her mother bought cutlets and mashed potatoes at the grocery store.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", as a result of food poisoning in Astrakhan, one person died, another 35 were hospitalized.

A trial regarding the mass poisoning took place in the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan at the request of Rospotrebnadzor, which demanded to suspend the operation of the grocery store "Mikhailovsky", whose products were consumed by the victims of the poisoning. During the court session, it was announced that three employees of the grocery store had been found to have salmonella bacteria, reported "Southern Federal" on July 4.

All employees of the grocery store underwent medical examinations, and samples were taken from them on June 25; the final results will be known on July 10. The fact that three employees were found to have salmonella bacteria does not mean that they are sick with it, as they are merely carriers, noted GTRK "Lotus".

"It is too early to talk about the causes of the mass illness – we need to wait for the results of all studies," the television company quoted the owner of the grocery store, Mikhail Derbasov, on its website.

The daughter of the woman who died as a result of the poisoning reported that her mother bought ready-made food at the grocery store – fish cutlets made from pike perch, lagman, and mashed potatoes. The next morning, the woman felt unwell, and a few days later she was placed in intensive care. Her condition rapidly deteriorated against the background of diabetes. Doctors connected the patient to a ventilator, but they were unable to save her.

Documents regarding the results of the examinations of the employees and the study of the products have not yet been submitted to the court, so the hearing of the case has been postponed to July 6. By that time, Rospotrebnadzor must provide all necessary materials. The causes of the mass poisoning will be known after the results of the examinations are received, as stated in the publication.

Recall that the mass poisoning in Astrakhan became known on June 27. All those poisoned had purchased ready-made lunches and dinners at the grocery store "Mikhailovsky". The owner of the grocery store reported that his subordinates were interrogated by the Investigative Committee.
