Less than 22% of applicants received payments after the flood in Dagestan

The total amount of payments for applications from residents of Dagestan affected by the flood reached 2.2 billion rubles. More than 60,000 people received assistance, which is less than 22% of the total number of applicants.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations as of May 22, 274,000 applications were received from the affected in Dagestan. By June 25, payments were made to over 52,000 residents of Dagestan (19.1% of applicants) totaling 1.9 billion rubles.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Dagestan has published new data on compensation payments to residents of the republic affected by the flood. The total amount of designated payments reached 2.2 billion rubles, the press service of the agency reported.

According to officials, in the last week, 6,386 people received payments, and the total amount of payments for the week was 209 million rubles. Thus, only 21.8% of applicants received payments, calculated "Caucasian Knot".

The government of Dagestan reported today in its Telegram channel on the restoration of the water supply network and assistance to residents of the Lak district who lost their homes.

"As a result of floods and landslides in the Lak district, residential houses were damaged, of which 14 were completely lost. The acceptance of documents from affected citizens for receiving payments will begin on July 9. In addition, it has been instructed to complete the inspection of all damaged properties as soon as possible and provide complete and accurate information on the scale of the destruction," the message says.

In the Magaramkent district, more than 200 residential houses were affected by the emergency situation. All facilities have been inspected, and the documentation for providing state support measures is ongoing. Payments have already been assigned to 480 applicants for a total amount of over 16.7 million rubles, officials reported.

In the city of Dagestanskie Ogni, 964 residential houses have been inspected. More than 6,900 residents received material assistance totaling over 248 million rubles, the press service of the regional government reports.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Dagestan affected by the flood in March-April are still waiting for payments for lost property from the authorities in June. Only in Mamedkala, where more than 500 houses were damaged during the flood, the affected residents submitted over 400 applications for payments by June 20.

Floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus at the end of March and became one of the most destructive in recent years.
