The case concerns the Mikhailovsky grocery store in Astrakhan. All the victims purchased prepared lunches and dinners at the chain's store on Maksakova Street. After eating, people felt nausea and stomach pain. All those who called the ambulance were hospitalized, Mash reports.

The owner of a grocery store in Astrakhan said his employees were taken for questioning by the Investigative Committee, while he himself is in another city.

"It's a confusing situation, very confusing: we recently won a lawsuit against the administration—they tried to demolish our building, we won, and then this nonsense started. Now my employees are being taken to the Investigative Committee for questioning—we'll sort this out," Baza quotes Mikhail Derbasov, director of the Mikhailovsky grocery store, as saying.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in 2023, ten customers of the cafe were hospitalized in Astrakhan with symptoms of poisoning.
