Two soldiers from the Volgograd region were killed in Ukraine.

Alexander Momot and Alexander Taigunov from the Kamyshinsky district were killed in the fighting. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, at least 1,758 service members from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by April 15, at least 1,756 soldiers from the Volgograd region had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

The Kamyshinsky District Administration reported today on its Telegram channel about the unveiling of memorial plaques at the Dvoryanskaya School to Alexander Momot and Alexander Taygunov, who were killed in the military operation.

"All of them were awarded the Order of Courage posthumously," the administration said in a statement.

Thus, at least 1,758 soldiers from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

"Caucasian Knot" is maintaining a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia".

The death of the soldier from Kamyshin was previously reported on April 4. At that time, authorities reported that Andrei Martsinkevich had been killed in the military operation.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits", which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. In particular, the widow of one of the killed soldiers said that without a body, the battalion did not make payments in connection with the death of the soldier.
